Triple Tested

Hey there.

I hope you all had a nice weekend. Ours was a little eventful. I thought I would do a totally pointless “here’s what I did” post tonight. I haven’t done one of these in a while? Right?

Here’s a recap in iPhone photos:

We went to my favorite restaurant Friday night with family for my birthday:

Me trying to curl my hair. On the right…how flat it gets. WHAT is the secret people? I am actually really good at “doing hair” but only certain hairdressers have ever been able to get mine to hold a curl.

Saturday a friend of ours was in a “Mr. Natural” Bodybuilding contest. This was a first for Ella and I. Actually, Mike too. He worked really hard, and it definitely paid off. However, it got kind of awkward sitting there with a 14 month old with her already funny babbling while these huge guys were making these hilarious faces, trying to hold poses. Kind of hard not to laugh. Don’t worry, we didn’t. It was also really hot so the spray tan was dripping all over the place. Needless to say, we stayed to see Scott’s first time out, then Ella wanted to run around. I didn’t realize it was at a gym with no where to go. It was definitely interesting, I’m glad we got to check it out! After seeing it though, I don’t think I would ever want to participate in one. I have flirted with the idea, but I don’t think it’s my thing. I already drive Michael nuts with my particular eating habits (as he drives me nuts with his)—but I don’t think I could ever go to this extreme just to see what my body could do. I have a lot of respect for those that do it, and do it the natural way.

Ella and I also got in some shopping at a “new to me store.”

IMG_1796[1]

We just got one in our mall, and I never heard of it before. I am obsessed!

Two bags for 19 dollars! I didn’t get the green one because I decided the beads were going to drive me insane falling off my shoulder. Shame because I loved the colors. If you saw what I’ve been carrying around all summer you would be very sad for me. I never in my life, until post-mommyhood, carried a bag in that condition. Over the years I have slowly sold all my “designer” bags on ebay (from when I was young living at home, no bills, once my business really took off with tons of clients). Now I’m just happy to have a bag that isn’t falling apart. Seriously, the rips in my old bag, I used as “secret compartments.” So I thought it was time to splurge a little on a new one. IMG_1794[1]

Big Bird comes EVERYWHERE with us by the way.

I tried for Ella’s first pigtails. They stayed in for a little. I know I’m forcing them a bit here…but…seriously…how cute is she?!?!

Oh, I also made more cupcakes. I had to make sure the recipe worked a third time around. Call it a triple tested recipe Winking smile

Cupcake

Fage total plain is my topping of choice I’ve decided.

Sunday funday we spent together as a family. Crab legs for dinner, and lots of playtime during the day. That girls loves to run around.

PS…look what I got from my fam! I tested it out last night. I;ve been making softserve in my Vitamix for years, but thought having this would be fun. Especially for Ella. Also..you lose so much in the blades, with yonanas I was hoping none would go to waste!

How was your weekend?

Do you have  “Charming Charlie” near you?

Yonanas….discuss…..?

Have you done a bodybuilding comp before? If so (or not) what are your thoughts on them? Would you ever?

I like those posts though! I feel like people expect more out of me and that my life is boring. Your life is not boring. And I love your style!

I hate cleaning the Yo-Nana machine. I feel like the blade is never clean enough, even after a good soak. I also think you need tons of bananas.
Love your new purse too !!

I can see that! I put mine through the dishwasher, after scrubbing it with the brush that cleans the blade for my juicer. That seemed to make it easier!

Ella looks too cute with those little pig tails! :-) )

We’ve had a couple charming charlies in my area for a couple years now and they do have a lot of great stuff there for cheap prices! I actually haven’t been there in a while so maybe I need to stop in soon!

Yeah, the hair thing drives me crazy. I have one of those ionic flat-irons that I use to curl my hair, but hairspray and high heat (unfortunately) help. Otherwise, the guy who cuts my hair says it’s just unusually straight.

Yea it only works well when I use that dry shampoo in it a little. And high heat. Then my hair burns off.

That’s so weird your hair doesn’t hold a curl! Usually curling works better if you wait at least a day or 2, so it has a little “grease” in it and if you spray hairspray onto the hair first and after. I usually find that works on others.
You look gorgeous as always though!
That is too funny about the fitness competition. I could imagine it would be awkward with Ella there;)
Oh.My.Gosh. Ella is absolutely the cutest baby ever with her little pigtails! I love it, even if they didn’t stay in too long.
Okay, that’s it your cupcakes are making my drool. I need to pick up more eggs to make them. I’m excited. Is it bad I plan to just make them for myself haha.

f I didn’t wash my hair 2 days I would look like a greaser!

It’s not bad..I made them for myself and finished a whole recipe over a few days all by myself. Oops!

My uncle used to do them and his GF when I was like 12. It’s just too stringent for me to!

A Charming Charlie opened in our mall about a year ago! I love it, but it’s really overwhelming! So many accessories, so many colors – where do you look first? ;) haha

Love love love Ella’s little pigtails! Adorable!
